Our approach to entrepreneurship is multidimensional and experience-driven. It’s about developing people who can think and do in ever-changing contexts. It’s about finding faster, better ways to launch companies that drive innovation and create jobs. And it’s about building the community and networks that founders, VCs, and mentors need. We do this by drawing on what makes Northeastern unique:
Experience. Our students come to Northeastern for our world-leading experiential learning model. By nature, they’re motivated, industrious self-starters. We’ve harnessed that drive to create a robust set of entrepreneurship organizations where even those who never considered entrepreneurship feel welcomed and supported. Recognizing early on that students don’t see entrepreneurship as business-school-centric, we also designed courses, co-ops (our signature six-month work experiences), bootcamps, and venture accelerators that allow people to gain entrepreneurship experience across all disciplines and stages of life and career.
Global reach. Northeastern now has 13 campuses globally integrated into some of the fastest-growing tech and start-up economies. That means opportunities to gain entrepreneurship experience in many contexts—not only in start-up and Big Tech hubs like San Jose, Seattle, Toronto, and Boston, but also emerging tech and finance economies like Miami; Portland, Maine; and London.
Our partnership model. Partnership with industry, government, and community organizations fuels our unique model for lifelong learning and collaborative research. We’re able to tap that network and integrate the hundreds of startups and venture capitalists into all parts of our entrepreneurship student and faculty experience.
