IMPACT STORY

Impacting lifes

Dimitris Diamantis has established numerous initiatives and collaborations to instill the Entrepreneurial spirit among students:

a. Developing U workshops, a sector-leading Entrepreneurship-for-All approach. which includes more than 150 programmes, ranging from Entrepreneurship, Engineering, Technology, Creative industries and the Arts, to Social and Life sciences.

b. A series of events with leading professionals from various sectors of Greek and International Business, such as “Hotel Open Forum”, “Shipping Leaders in Residence”, “The disruptors”, “Fireside Chat”.

c. Students are encouraged to participate in entrepreneurship contests such as “Business Talents Greece” and submit their business plans for products and services.

d. In-house services that enhance the employability and entrepreneurial skills: Employability & Career Centre, Career days, Career fairs, Network of contracted student placements, field trips, Mobility.

e. Cooperation with Innovation Parks enhancing synergies among Academia, Research and companies in many Greek cities.

f. Participation in initiatives, such as the Prometheus Consortium for Business Acceleration led by the University of the Aegean and 14 other European Universities.

g. Affiliations & Membership to the major Institutional and Professional bodies in Greece (SETE-The Greek Tourism Federation), SEPE (Federation of IT and Communication Enterprises), the UK (RIBA, BPS) and Internationally (EMCC, UN WTO),

h. Metropolitan College collaborates with Libra Group for the Libra Group Global Internships Program.

Approximately 4,000 participants have attended these activities, participated in contests, received awards and worked as interns. Metropolitan College has won the “Education Business Award” for two consecutive years, as a result of best practices and innovation.

Dimitris Diamantis leads by example and demonstrates a strong work ethic and complete commitment to the end goal.
He is passionate for lifelong learning and social justice and stresses the importance of being thoroughly prepared when starting a new project.
