Techies of Tomorrow began with two educators wanting to help recent graduates jumpstart their careers in the Tech Sector.
After years of teaching, Henry Leung and Ramin Shadmehr learned that there is a significant gap in diversity in the tech sector. Also, tech grads felt the need to go outside of Metro Vancouver to gain relevant work experience, while many local businesses couldn’t find the talents and digital services they needed.
Feeling compelled to bridge these gaps in their industry, they co-founded Techies of Tomorrow in the fall of 2020, intending to provide relevant services to local organizations while highlighting and retaining tech talents within British Columbia.
And now, each year, Techies of Tomorrow is powered by a team of recent post-secondary graduates who are passionate about the latest design and development trends. Championed by Henry and Ramin, the team works with an inclusive vibe, openness to diverse subjects, and obsession in quality and all things digital. Our Techies of Tomorrow look forward to serving local organizations and elevating tech development in B.C.!

Leadership and learning always go hand in hand. We always need to learn about emerging technology and make sure we keep up with it. As new technologies are constantly emerging, staying informed and up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements are important to stay ahead of the curve.
While it's important to keep up with emerging technologies, it's equally important to have a solid foundation in the fundamentals of your field. Ensure you thoroughly understand core concepts and principles and continue building on that knowledge as you learn new skills.
Technology is a hands-on field; the best way to learn is often by doing. Take on projects that challenge you and allow you to apply your skills in a practical setting. This can include personal projects, open-source contributions, or volunteering your skills to non-profit organizations.
As a leader in technology, it's important to set an example for your team. Be transparent, communicate clearly, and be willing to listen to feedback.
And finally, be adaptable and embrace change. Technology constantly evolves, and adaptability is key to success in this field. Be open to new ideas and approaches, and don't be afraid to pivot when necessary. Embrace change as an opportunity for growth and learning.

We are focused and aiming at widening the circle of our industry partners, which would allow us to invite more tech graduates into our training and work-integrated learning program and ultimately prepare a larger workforce for the tech sector.
